3 pin fan connectors?
Can I connect a 3 pin fan to my computer without turning the PC off? Or will that cause some kinda of catastrophic failure within the computer? I'm assuming it'd fuse or something but...
Anyone got any experience of this?
I can turn my computer off and do it...
But then it'd be inconvenient
It may actually shut down your computer for you if you do it while the computer is still running. (Your computer will suddenly realise [realize, if you're one of my American cousins] that there's been a sudden demand for more power.)
I'd advise playing safe and turning your computer off first, and then installing your fan.
