Multi-USB Ports Does Not Recognize 2 External Hard Drive?
I have a laptop which has two USB ports, but sometimes I use many USB cables at the same time. To solve the USB ports capability, I bought a multi-USB ports, which can handle 5 different USB ports in one device. However, when I hooked up 2 different external hard drives to the device, only one of them was recognized. Both hard drive do get recognized if I do not use the multi-USB ports. Does multi-USB port handle generally only 1 external hard drive ?
If there is no power adapter that plugs into the wall, that USB hub is sharing power with all devices. The USB source (laptop) is limited to how much power it can give, usually just enough for things like a USB power disk drive - not two.
You have to make sure you are using a powered USB hub, it will supply dedicated power to each port.
