Dexter's Laptop bag part 5 - help others find it.

Yes - that's me on the front coverI have a lot of traffic to this blog from Google searches on "Dexter's Bag", "Dexter's Laptop Bag", "Dexter +bag", "Dexter's book bag" and many more.
The reason is of course my 4 posts about my hunt for the bag I saw Dexter use, to carry his MacBook, to the office in Season 2 of the popular series "Dexter". The 4 posts can be found here:

Post 1 - Where the hunt begins.
Post 2 - How I got unxpected help
Post 3 - Review of my bag.
Post 4 - Update on where it might be found.

The bag, an Oakley S.I. Computer bag has the status of "discontinued" over at the Oakley site, but it seems to appear on eBay, and various webshops in the U.S. every now and then. Browse the comments from readers on the previous posts, or please post your Oakley S.I. Computer bag, or Dexter's Bag sightings as comments to this post, and find yours, or help others find theirs.

I'll also throw up a post in the forum.

At the time of writing this post, it is available here, on eBay, at a fair price. US readers may ba able to find tham available at Zappos, as described over at GearsandWidgets.com

I have not seen season three over here in Norway yet, is he still using the bag?

Thanks! This is a great post, been looking for this bag for awhile :)

And to you question:

Nope he don´t use the S.I Bag in season 3. He uses the new Oakley AP Computer Bag instead. Looks like a pretty solid bag too, but not as good as the S.I. http://oakley.com/catalog/products/ap-computer-bag

Great stuff man.

Totally agreed. The S.I. is the cool guy computer bag. And quite the conversation starter as well ;-)

Good luck with yours :-)

I saw this bag on "Dexter" and found it to be cool as well. The only place I could find it was on Zappos.com, for $179.00.

Thanks for the information. It definitely helped convince me to fork over the $$$.

The bag may be discontinued at Oakley.com but is still manufactured and available at Oakley's US Standard Issue website.
Official site for Oakley military and government sales. Anybody can view the site, but to order or view the special pricing, you have to register and provide your credentials, may it be of any US military branch, police/sheriff, fire, or any government law enforcement agency.
The site is: secure.usstandardissue.com and the bag is listed under 'Other Gear' category. If you don't have the credentials, maybe you know somebody like a relative or a friend who can order it for you.

Zappos and some Oakley authorized retailers also carry the bag at a way higher price. Sometimes you can find them in eBaY at a comparable price from Zappos, or sometimes you can find them pre-owned at a low starting bid, but by the time the listing close, bidders end up paying top $$$ because the bag is in so much demand.

I have this bag and by far this is the best computer bag. With its adaptable payload system, I can add more pouches from my other Oakley pieces or you can even add military molle pouches on the side or the back.

This is an update to my prior post.

I owned the SI for two weeks (purchased from Zappos). I love the look and feel. But, it was just way too flimsy. The strap wouldn't extend past where I needed it (I'm 5'9") and it would always hit my lower hip. The two steel hooks on the front were a pain to open. Plus, it was loud as hell.

So, I'm gonna try the Oakley AP Computer bag - available at Oakleyvault.com for a meager $86.00 (compared to $180.00 for the SI bag).

Great bag. Just didn't work for me. Looks amazing though. Probably better for someone taller!
