The Hunter

I love gaming, and most of all I like MMO games. For years I was waiting for Age of Conan, but so fare I have to admit I have been a bit disappointed. It is a great MMORPG game but it is not revolutionary. It does not change the genre. It is just a bit better looking MMORPG. So at the moment the MMO genre is not developing all that much.
But today I read about "The Hunter" and my heart skipped a beat. Seriously - games like the Dear Hunter series have been great. The Valuesoft hunting games the last few years, not so great, not the Cabela arcade type hunting games either. Making a fresh pot of coffee, sit down in front of the computer, walk to your favourite hunting spot in Deer Hunter 2005 and just relax and wait is actually really great! I do not hunt in real life, but grown up in a family that does, and I see the attraction.
But reading about the "The Hunter" being a full sale Hunting MMO game, I got really exited, and the beta seems to bee coming out soon. Behind the game is Emote Games and Avalance Studios (the creators of Just Cause) so my excitement is way up there, because Just Cause was a great game and if you take that kind of environment and use it fro a hunting game it should be just perfect.
Multiplayer hunting was fun before, a lot of excitement, and thrills in competing for trophys, saboageing the others by scaring game and featurs like poching should be hours of fun.
Classic RPG for MMO games are becoming a bit monotonous these days, Age of Conan and Warhammer Online not helping the genre. I have more faith in Action MMO's (like The Agency from SOE) and a game like "The Hunter" is a fresh breeze for us gamers with an urge for socializing when we are gaming.
I'll head over and sing up for the beta now.
