iPhone addiction

iphoneSince I got my iPhone a few weeks ago, I have become addicted to the gadget as so many others have. And who can blame us? Because this is one darn great gadget.

As far as phones go, I look for a few features; audio quality of phone conversations, comfort of typing SMS and email, and a good MP3 player. Camera quality is nice to have but not that important. And the camera in the iPhone is not particularly good, but everything else is.

This is the closest I have gotten to the perfect gadget this far. Phone quality and the general phone software is great, typing on the iPhone is way much faster than it was on my two previous phones, the SMS conversation logs are cool (why hasn't all phone makers done it like this already?), and it is of course a great music and video player as well.

It has it's flaws like the lack of 3G and so, but this will be out soon. All in all I have not been this excited about a gadget in a long time. What I am most excited about is the ability to bring all the great podcasts with me at all times. I have followed a lot of podcasts an PC and other devices but no other device allows me to follow them so smoothly and organized as my iPhone's and iTunes. I do not have much time to watch TV anymore, so docking the iPhone and knowing that I have the latest news from multiple sources, my favorite shows like Diggnation, The Totally Rad Show and others from Revision3.com really brightens up my day.

Wireless network and a great version of Safari also allows me to keep track of my favorite sites like Digg.com and  others. And the perhaps best bonus is the battery capacity. Even though I leave WiFi on at all times, use the iPod a lot, and make quite a few calls, the battery stretches better than my two previous phones - a Sony Ericsson P1i and a Nokia N95.

All in all this is by far my favorite phone ever, and I am looking forward to future versions as well, being certain that I will upgrade as soon as they come out. But my only concern is that it seems that Apple's marketing machine is working a bit to well.  So my question is: Will the iPhone turn us into Mac users? Will we all become ? More about this in my next post.

iPhone ftw! It does lack a couple of features, though. I expect the next upgrade to remedy that. Otherwise, I'm switching to a Transicast. (Check the entry for 07.10.2017 at http://www.wired.com/techbiz/it/magazine/15-07/local :-)

Why are you concerned about a few more Mac users? I don't see the problem :-)

I se definately see myself with a Transicast 3000 if the next-gen iPhone does not fullfill my requirements. Absolutely!
